Black Badger Advanced Composites is a specialized industrial design consultancy, working in the field of composite materials. BBAC offers a full spectrum of product development services, everything from concept generation to production of high-finish prototypes.
Based out of the town of Göteborg, Sweden, BBAC specializes in bringing aerospace materials into everyday life.
The company was founded by James Thompson in 2006.
James Thompson came to Sweden, from his native Vancouver, Canada, in 2002. In june of 2010 James completed his industrial design masters degree at HDK design school in Göteborg. His thesis had him onsite for several months in Adelaide, South Australia. The project consisted of working with the design of the next-generation of submarines for the Royal Australian Navy.
Years of experimentation with carbon fibre and other advanced composites have given him the unique perspective of both the design and production side of product development.
Not content to be tied to a computer all day, James spends most of his day giving personal attention to developing new products and prototypes for a wide range of clients. James is currently engaged with establishing Black Badger as a worldwide luxury brand, using industrial materials to create objects of fascination and beauty.
